Industrial solar EPC, sized to your load
Captive solar for industrial plants, with the electrical side done properly.
Rooftop or ground-mount, designed from your own load and tariff, built with switchboards from our own works and commissioned by our engineers. Power at ₹2.5–3.5 a unit against ₹7.5–8.5 from the grid, on a self-consumption basis that does not depend on export rules.
Scope
What a WTS solar EPC contract includes
One contract, one site team, one point of accountability from the first survey to the DISCOM synchronisation letter.
- Design and yield studyShadow analysis, PVsyst yield at P50, structure and cable sizing, single-line diagram, protection study
- SupplyModules, inverters, structure, DC and AC cables, earthing and lightning protection, from two approved vendors per item
- WTS-built electricalACDB, PCC or interface panel, metering and zero-export relay, manufactured and factory-tested at Kotambi
- InstallationStructure, module mounting, DC and AC works, with our own electrical crew and a daily safety brief
- ApprovalsGEDA registration where applicable, DISCOM net-metering or captive application, CEIG inspection, synchronisation
- Commissioning and handoverInsulation and string tests, protection tests, performance ratio test, as-built drawings, training, monitoring live
- O&M, optionalCleaning schedule, preventive maintenance, performance reporting against the P50 figure, spares
| Criterion | Rooftop | Ground-mount |
|---|---|---|
| Typical size | Smaller plants, up to a few MWp | MW-scale plants with land |
| Space needed | About 1 acre of roof per MWp | About 4 acres of land per MWp |
| Structure | Follows the shed pitch or fixed tilt on RCC; roof load check first | Fixed tilt, piled or ballast foundations |
| Cable run to bus | Short, inverters on the wall | Longer, may need an LT or HT evacuation panel |
| Cost per MWp | ₹3.0–3.8 Cr, indicative | Similar, plus land development |
| Best for | Plants with sound roofs and daytime load | Larger plants with spare land |
The economics, on a self-consumption basis
We size solar so that nearly all of it is consumed on site during the day. That way the saving is the tariff you avoid, and it does not depend on banking, export rates or net-metering rules that change.
Accelerated depreciation on solar assets may apply to your company and shortens the payback further; confirm with your tax adviser. Figures are indicative and are confirmed against your own bills in the feasibility study.
Approvals
The paperwork, handled in sequence
Most delays on industrial solar in Gujarat are approvals, not construction. We run them in parallel with engineering so the plant is not waiting on a letter.
- Feasibility and load checkContract demand, sanctioned load, roof or land, DISCOM circle
- DISCOM applicationCaptive or net-metering application with SLD and protection scheme
- Technical feasibilityDISCOM site check and approval of the interconnection
- CEIG inspectionElectrical inspector approval of the installation, drawings and earthing
- SynchronisationMeter installation, testing and commercial operation
Where export is allowed under current GERC regulations we build in the metering, but we do not base your payback on it.
Standard system
SR-1000, our most-built rooftop package
1 MWp rooftop solar
String inverters, WTS ACDB and PCC, zero-export relay, monitoring. For any plant with about an acre of roof and daytime load above 700 kW.
- Modules
- ALMM-listed, 25-year performance warranty
- Inverters
- String, BIS and CEA certified, manufacturer's warranty passed through
- Electrical
- ACDB and PCC built at Kotambi, IEC 61439 design-verified
- Indicative price
- ₹3.2–3.8 Cr installed
- Build time
- Schedule given with the proposal, approvals running in parallel
Designed to take a battery
Every SR-1000 is built with a spare feeder and EMS interface on the PCC, so storage can be added without rebuilding the switchboard. Many customers add it in year two, once they see the load data.
- Spare feeder
- Sized for a 500 kW PCS
- EMS
- Monitoring from day one, storage control added later
- Upgrade path
- Hybrid EPC
Questions we are asked about solar
Can my roof take it?
We do a structural check before anything else. Most pre-engineered sheds take the panel load without strengthening; older RCC roofs sometimes need a ballast or elevated structure. If the roof cannot take it, we say so and look at ground-mount.
What happens on a cloudy day or at night?
You draw from the grid as you do today. Solar reduces your daytime units; it does not back you up. For backup and demand-charge control you add storage, which is why most of our plants end up hybrid.
Do I get a subsidy?
Residential rooftop schemes do not apply to industrial consumers. The benefit that usually does apply is accelerated depreciation on the asset, which your tax adviser can confirm for your company.
Who maintains it?
Either your own electrical team, after our training, or us under an AMC. The AMC includes cleaning, preventive checks, performance reporting against the P50 figure and spares.
