Battery energy storage EPC, sized to your peak and backup need
Storage that holds your plant up when the grid lets go.
Behind-the-meter battery storage, engineered as a plant and not sold as a box. LFP racks and grid-forming PCS from two approved vendors, with the BESS switchboard, protection and EMS manufactured and tested at our own works in Kotambi.
What storage is for
Three jobs, usually two of them at once
Most industrial storage pays for itself on the first two and earns its keep on the third. We size for whichever combination your bills and trip log point to.
Cut demand charges
The battery discharges during your afternoon peak, so the maximum demand the DISCOM bills is lower every month. This is the saving that arrives whether or not the grid ever trips.
Indicative, from design: 15 to 25 per cent off billed kVAReplace DG running
Short and medium outages are carried by the battery instead of the DG set. Diesel at ₹18–25 a unit becomes stored grid or solar power at a fraction of that, and the DG becomes the backup to the backup.
Indicative, from design: 70 to 90 per cent fewer DG hoursHold the critical bus
A grid-forming PCS carries your critical loads through the trip with no interruption, then hands over to the DG or resynchronises to the grid. For continuous processes this is the number that matters.
Typical: seamless ride-through, DG start in the backgroundIndicative calculation; verify with engineering before ordering.
What is in a WTS BESS
Five parts. We make the ones that decide whether it works.
A battery rack is a commodity, and we buy the best one for the job from two approved suppliers. The switchboard that ties it to your plant, the protection that keeps it safe and the EMS that runs it are not commodities, and we build them.
Fire detection and suppression, enclosure cooling and the civil plinth are specified by us and supplied by insurer-accepted vendors.
Safety is a design decision, not a certificate
Every storage project we build follows the same rules. They are not negotiable, including when they cost more.
Site staff are trained on electrical safety and hazardous-area awareness; a permit-to-work system runs on every site.
Standard systems
Two sizes cover most plants
125–250 kW / 261–500 kWh
One or two cabinets with a WTS interface panel and EMS. For a 250 to 750 kVA plant with trips and DG pain, where the problem is reliability more than demand charges.
- Conversion
- Hybrid inverter or small PCS
- Footprint
- About the size of two large switchboards, indoors or outdoors
- Indicative price
- ₹0.6–1.3 Cr installed
- Build time
- Schedule given with the proposal, approvals running in parallel
1 MW / 2 MWh
A containerised system with grid-forming PCS, WTS BESS PCC and EMS. For a 1 to 3 MVA plant, where demand charges and DG replacement both pay and the critical bus must ride through.
- Conversion
- Grid-forming PCS, DG and solar synchronisation
- Footprint
- One 20-foot container plus PCS and switchboard, NFPA 855 clearances
- Indicative price
- ₹3.5–4.5 Cr installed
- Build time
- Schedule given with the proposal, approvals running in parallel
Prices depend on site conditions, cable runs, fire system and approval scope, so we quote against your single-line diagram rather than publishing a rate.
Warranty and performance
What is guaranteed, and who stands behind it
| Item | Warranty | Backed by |
|---|---|---|
| Battery racks | Manufacturer's warranty in years or cycles, with an end-of-warranty capacity floor | Rack manufacturer, passed through to you in writing |
| PCS | Manufacturer's warranty | PCS manufacturer, passed through |
| WTS switchboard, protection and EMS | Workmanship warranty, with OEM terms on relays and metering, written into the proposal | Wisdom Techno Solutions |
Questions we are asked about storage
How many hours of backup do I get?
It depends on what you back up. A 1 MW / 2 MWh system carries a 1 MW critical bus for about two hours, or a 300 kW critical bus for most of a shift. We size the critical bus first, then the battery.
How long does the battery last?
LFP racks carry the manufacturer's warranty in years or cycles, with a capacity floor, passed through to you back-to-back in writing. The EMS is tuned to keep the system inside its cycle budget.
Will it work with my existing DG?
Yes. The PCS synchronises with the DG so the two share load, and the EMS decides when the DG starts. Most customers find the DG runs a fraction of the hours it did before.
Can it charge from solar?
Yes, and it should. Charging from solar surplus in the day and discharging into the evening peak is the hybrid case, with the best economics of all.
Start with your DG hours
Two minutes in the calculator gives you a first size and payback. Three working days with your bills gives you a study your board can act on.
